DRE Portrait Photography
As a father of four, I understand the desire to have high quality pictorial representations of children in all facets of their life. As a photographer I've developed a style that is patient at times as well as sharp and focused when beautiful opportunities arise. I also developed a style that uses natural light as often as possible, to avoid flashes and provide a more naturally appealing photograph and experience for the portrait subject. My end goal, in any situation, is to produce photographs that are to the highest possible quality and to have my clients happy with the results. Any situation, any subject, or any location has beauty held within - that I can find and photograph.
As hinted above, my working style has developed through years of watching and photographing my children, and through years of classical study and practice. I am patient and have no problems waiting as long as needed for the right moment, for perfect photos. I have talent enough to see beautiful scenes unfold in-front of me and have the ability to create the perfect situation for a perfect photograph. In the end I am capable of working quickly with the given scene or if there is more afforded time I prefer allowing a bit of “getting to know you” time with my subjects, which allows a level of comfort to develop – and produces some of the most genuine attractive photographs.
To get the best results out of a photo shoot I feel that it is good to know what the expectations are for the photographs and what clothing selection you might plan for. That way I can make a plan for the locations or any light needs that I might arise. It's also best if we have a open line of communication for better planning and design. Often times if I am aware of the location or purpose for the photograph I can help you plan the color scheme of the photograph.
I would also ask that you to not prime your children about smiling or discus any behavior for the photo shoot. I expect children to be children, and the more relaxed and happy they are as they enter the session, the better it all works for everyone. Please allow children to come to the portrait time without feeling any pressure of any expectations.

Session Fee: 175.00
Digital Copies and CD : Free
Session fees are to hold your place on my calendar and must be paid a week before the scheduled session to ensure your time for the completed project, editing, printing or framing. Mini Sessions take less time and are a bit rushed while still provide top notch photographs, but because of their time tables the total number of locations and photographs are less. After editing I select 15 of the best photos and include those with your CD and digital copies. Also included is a print release granting you permission to print the images. I also offer museum quality archival prints matted and framed in locally hand made frames as well as additional printing options such as canvas prints.
Photographers Note: Mini sessions are not appropriate for babies under 6 months or extended families.
Here's Hows the entire process Works for Standard Sessions:
Before your DRE Photography session:
Once you have contacted me we can discuss the session, set a date, determine what style of portraits you would like, talk about clothing, and any other options you are interested in. We will also discuss full payment for both your session fee and any additional prints and frames to ensure your reservation for your date and time.
Your portrait session:
I am a low-volume photographer, which means I can give you careful attention to make sure I will create for you portraits you will love. Most sessions are finished in about an hour but can last longer if the weather doesn't cooperate or we have other difficulties. We can either go on location for your portraits, or it can happen at your house ( I have transportable lights and flashes if needed), or at my studio. Clothing changes are fine. After your session: I spend time going through the images; choosing about 30-50 of the very best to present to you after carefully editing each one. About 10 days after your session you will be shown the images in a private slideshow while I order your CD. At this time, you may also choose to order custom products from me such as canvas, specialty prints, or archival prints mounted in locally hand made frames. To order any of those items, simply email me and we can discuss options and prices.
